Carnivale... the Restuarant, no Mas

Last year at this time, I was in Carnival.  This year, the farthest I made it was to Carnivale restaurant downtown Chicago.  It wasn't quite as warm as Trinidad, but it was still an enjoyable night.  The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting and food at Carnivale never disappoints.  I highly recommend the Chuleta or the Arrachera.

Chuleta
Wood-grilled Pork Chop, Bacon-Plaintain Fufu,
Roasted Garlic Sherry Broth, & Pepper Escabeche

Costilla de Res
Braised Short Ribs, Three Sisters Farm Cheese Polenta,
Carrot Escabeche, & Spiced Cashews

Arrachera
Grilled Skirt Steak, Rice & Beans,
Sweet Red Onion, Chimichurri Sauce
I'm not sure if the ice cream cake is the dessert to order but as soon as we ordered it, all the other tables around us ordered it too.

Carnivale Ice Cream Cake
Mango, guava and pistachio ice cream,
chocolate ganache, pineapple, raspberry and mint sauces
